Consultations, Training, and Program DevelopmentThe Alta Vista Center offers consultations and training from our clinical and consulting team with extensive background autism spectrum disorders. Individual ConsultationIndividual consultation from one of our clinical or educational staff is available for families or schools seeking professional expertise to address particular questions or concerns or ongoing support to maximize individual progress. School ConsultationSchool consultations are designed to support one particular student’s educational progress or a classroom of student’s progress. The consultations are meant to be collaborative between the current multidisciplinary educational team at the school and the consultant. The consultations may be designed to specifically address particular questions or educational concerns or include a more comprehensive assessment of individualized educational plan design, student learning, data-driven decision making, optimizing teaching techniques, and team approach to educational intervention. Program DevelopmentThe program development service is designed to work collaboratively with the professionals at existing or future program sites to incorporate empirically supported educational practices for students with autism spectrum disorders. Our staff are available to conduct training workshops for schools, agencies, professionals, parents or educational groups. Previous topics have included the science of educating children with autism, principles of applied behavior analysis, social/emotional development, problem solving challenging behaviors, critical transition periods, and successful collaborations between parents and educators.
